Happy Friday, sweet Rise and Shine friends!
Also, happy first day of Spring…
Also! Happy Birthday to my sweet friend, Gigi!!
Whoa! That is a lot of goodness in one day! Yay!
This morning, as I was praying over my family, I thought of something that I don’t think I have ever shared with you.
One liners.
Yes, those quick one line prayers throughout our day.
There are times, many times, when someone asks for prayer in any given day.
I have found that often, I use these one line prayers that I have stored in my heart to assist me.
Many times, we are working, or driving, or doing other tasks and we cannot stop and fall to our knees in prayer.
However, we can always pray as we go.
This morning, I want to share some of my most used one liners.
I bet you have some too! Please share with me, I would love to hear them!
When my kids and/or husband asks me to pray for a test, or something at work, or when they were in high school—a sport they were about to play….
“Lord, establish the work of Joseph’s hands, Yes, establish the work of his hands.” Psalm 90:17
When someone needs success in a job interview, a meeting, or something important…
“Lord, please give Lem wisdom and stature and favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52
When someone needs healing…
“Lord, you are Jehovah Rapha. By Your Stripes, Presley is healed.” Isaiah 53:55
When praying for purity and protection from temptation…
“Father, please let Joseph hate what is evil, and cling to what is good.” Romans 12:9
When praying for financial help for someone…
“Lord, You will supply all of our needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Phillipians 4:19
When someone needs prayer that is grieving…
“Lord, you are close to the brokenhearted. Please let them feel Your presence and peace.” Psalm 34:18
When praying for protection over loved ones traveling or just day to day protection…
“Lem who dwells in the shelter of the most High, will rest in the shadow of The Almighty. Command Your angels concerning Lem to guard him in all his ways.” Psalm 91
When I am worried about my children and their whereabouts as they are now young adults..
“Lord, please let Joseph and Presley never be in the wrong place at the wrong time. But, let them always be in the right place at the right time.” Acts 17:26
When asking for wisdom for my family and friends…
“Lord, whether we turn to the left or to the right, let us always hear YOUR Voice saying, “This is the way, walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21
When praying for my children’s future spouses…
“Lord, please stir the hearts of the ones that my children will marry. Stir their hearts for each other. The ones that you chose for them before they were even born. None shall be without their mate.” Isaiah 34:16
When a loved one is having trouble sleeping…
“In peace Joseph will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make him dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:8
When needing wisdom…I pray this one every single day!
"Lord, you tell us that you will give us wisdom if we ask. Please, Lord, give us a triple portion of wisdom!” James 1:5
When praying over my children or others children…
“All of our children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.” Isaiah 54:13
These are a few of my most used one line prayers! I hope it encourages you and spurs you on as you pray. We don’t have to quote lengthy scriptures all day long…
God knows what we need, even before we do!
When we pray, it is expressing our faith that HE will provide and He will answer!
Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. Hebrews 11:1
I will end on my very favorite scripture to pray to God…
“Lord, I have not because I ask not. So, here I am! I am asking!” James 4:2
short, simple and to the point.
