Just say yes…
Good morning, sweet friends!
We have about 31 days to go until Spring! Happy dance, happy dance!
Not that I am keeping up or anything!
Spring brings sunshine, flowers, and just all the good things in my humble opinion.
What is your favorite season? I would love to know!
Last Thursday was an incredibly special day.
My sweet friends at Amelia’s Boutique in Madison, Ga hosted a book signing for me!
Honestly, I was just so excited to go and visit my friends in Madison and the book signing was just the cherry on top.
On the drive there, it hit me.
Gosh, I hope someone comes!
I mean, I knew my family would come and that would be fun, but what if no one else came?
In my heart, I prayed, “Lord, even if no one comes, let this day be so joyful!”
He answered.
Not only did friends come, but I met new friends who grabbed a signed copy of my book.
God is so so so so GOOD!
Thank you to EVERYONE who came! You have no idea how much it meant to my little beating heart. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I began writing on this blog way back in 2012.
It all began as a stirring from The Holy Spirit to get into His Word.
At that point, I had never read the Bible on my own, just attended bible studies.
Late Fall of 2011, I literally felt the biggest stirring to start 2012 off by reading God’s Word every single day.
A few friends joined me in a reading plan on January 1, 2012, and the rest is history.
So simple, yet so life changing.
There is not a day that goes by that I do not seek Him in His Word.
I am utterly lost without Him.
Through this blog, I have met the most incredible people. Some I have met, and some I have not yet.
At the time this blog began my children were very young. Blogging was the only way I could express what God was doing in my life. I had to write it all down.
The many stories, the endless God moments that happened and are still happening…I had to have a place to tell others!
I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. Psalm 9:1
One of the biggest desires of my heart was to write a book one day.
Honestly, it felt like it would never happen. Life was busy, especially as my kids grew older. So many activities!
Yet, I knew with all my heart, God wanted me to write a book.
The stirring amped up at the beginning of 2025. The time was ripe.
I had met my precious friend Pam at bible study, and she also had the stirring to write a book.
We decided to write together for accountability.
Every week, beginning in March, we met to write.
Those hours are priceless to me.
It would have been easy to just keep “dreaming” of writing a book. It took time, and it took perseverance.
Honestly, I had to overcome my worry of failure and what people would think. (this is a big one!)
I had to fully trust and rely on God….even if no one bought one single copy.
I had to care what HE thinks over what I imagined others were thinking.
Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the LORD means safety. Proverbs 29:25
Why am I telling you all of this?
I want YOU to pursue the dream God has in your heart.
Maybe the time is not right for you to start…but you can start praying about it.
You can start preparing by doing the little things…they matter!
Start writing down what the Lord speaks to you.
Ask Him to put you with the right people and in the right places…HE WILL.
Be faithful in the small things…every day.
Little things add up over time and they honor The Lord.
He sees you.
He loves you.
He has plans for YOU.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
He plants dreams and desires in our hearts.
Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
We are never ever too old…or too young.
Moses was 80 when God called him.
Sarah was 90 when she had her first child, Isaac.
Abraham was 100 when Isaac was born.
It is never too late to do what God has placed on our hearts to do!
Maybe it is encouraging…
Maybe it is writing…
Maybe it is teaching…
Maybe it is singing…
Maybe it is administrative…
Maybe it is motherhood…
Maybe it is being a godly grandparent…
Maybe it is being a prayer warrior…
Maybe it is to begin a bible study in your community…
Maybe it is cooking…
Maybe it is to adopt or foster…
Maybe it is to be a mentor…
Maybe it is to open a book store…
Maybe it is to help in the nursery at church…
Maybe it is to be the very best employee at your job…
God has something taylor-made just for YOU—at this very moment.
You are so special and unique and He has plans for you beautiful life.
He will do immeasurably more than you can think or imagine…Ephesians 3:20
just say yes,
jill
