When you need Freedom…

Happy Tuesday to you!
It is hotter than blue blazes here in Georgia.
On top of the scorching heat, our a/c went out on the main floor….where our bedroom is. Yay!
Thank goodness, we have a basement on a separate system. We have been cozied up there until our unit is repaired or replaced.
Honestly, my husband and I were talking last night about how GRATEFUL we are that we do have air in the basement. We would have had to go to a hotel or a family members house if we did not have another unit blowing cool air.
Perspective changes everything doesn’t it?
When we are anxious, fearful, depressed, worried, angry, bitter…
All we have to do is train our minds to focus in a different direction.
Actually living out the scripture…
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things….and the God of Peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9
God’s Word and Wisdom was established WAY before our cultures words of encouragement to “think positive!”
Have you ever tried to do this? To really think on those things listed above in that scripture?
I am telling you…if you could put a camera inside of my head, you will see this scripture floating around ALL DAY LONG.
That is how desperate I am for these words of Truth.
Fear, panic, anxiety, worry….they are debilitating.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.-Jesus (John 10:10)
The enemy cannot get into our heads, because we have the mind of Christ according to 1 Corinthians 2:16.
However, he is really good at watching us, and seeing our habits and weaknesses.
He is intent on tripping us up in the very ways that trip us up the most.
When we change our mindset to Truth (scripture), our habits start to change.
I have seen this played out in my own life with struggling with fear and anxiety through the years.
When I change my thoughts, my words, and my actions…I began to walk in peace and victory.
As soon as I let my mind run away with lies, what-if’s, and scary scenarios…I lose my peace. In an instant.
For me, this has not been a one in done thing.
It is something that I have to work on daily…minute by minute.
I have to daily guard my eyes, my ears, my heart and my mind.
We live in a fallen world and the enemy is always on the prowl.
Yet, “Greater is He who is in me, than in the world!” 1 John 4:4
If you are struggling today…fill your heart and mind with TRUTH.
Here are some verses that I meditate on daily to keep my mind and heart at peace.
No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD. Isaiah 54:17
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2
The JOY of the Lord is my strength. Nehemiah 8:10
Greater is He who is in me, than in the world. 1 John 4:4
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways…Psalm 91:11
You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Isaiah 55:12
The Lord is my Shepherd, I have all that I need. Psalm 23:1
These are just a few of the verses I clutch daily in my heart and mind.
His Word never returns void! (Isaiah 55:11)
There is Power, Healing, Victory, Freedom in His Words.
Are you tired of being defeated day after day after day??

Goodness, God has so much more for us!
We MUST take Him at His Word.
Literally.
