Just another crown…

Rise and Shine, precious friend!

Well, here we are.

Friday has arrived!!! Happy dance, happy dance!

I love Fridays!

My mom said I was born on a Friday, so of course, this makes sense. Ha!

You know I love to tell stories.

Just ask my kids. :)

They say I have a “story” about everything.

From going to the grocery store, to going to the dentist.

Yes, it is true.

This particular story is about my dentist appointment this week.

I went in on Monday to get a crown for one of my teeth.

Now, in most worlds, a crown would be a beautiful piece of jewelry.

Well, in the dental world, it is basically removing a bad tooth and putting a new one on. Or something like that. :)

It is not fun, I can tell you that for sure.

My mouth is full of crowns. In fact, I would wager that I have more “crowns” than anyone reading this post! :)

Not something to brag about, but here we are.

As I was leaving my appointment on Monday, mouth still sore, I realized that I had a temporary crown on the bad tooth.

It would take a while to get the “permanent” crown for that tooth to set in my mouth.

For those of you with perfect teeth, a temporary crown means you cannot really chew on that side of the mouth because it could fall out. Yay!

Ugh.

I am leaving to go to the mountains next week, and I did not factor this in when I scheduled that appointment.

It is hard to chew on only one side of your mouth! Especially on vacation.

As I was explaining my dilemma to the receptionist, my sweet friend Chasity, she told me that it could take up to a week and maybe TWO to get that permanent crown back from the lab.

However, she said, sometimes it only takes two days, we just never really know.

Immediately, I realized that Monday was Columbus day, so that would also affect the mailing of the crown.

Listen, I know this is a first world problem. But, I was really really bummed.

I wanted to enjoy my trip to the mountains without worrying about my temporary crown falling out on my plate.

Eek!

As soon as I got to my car, I began to pray.

Lord, I know this is a small request. You have much bigger things to answer besides this. BUT! Would you please expedite this tooth being delivered?

I not only needed the tooth to come fast, but also before Friday because the dentist is closed on Friday!

Friends, I needed a miracle.

A tooth miracle.

Well, guess what?

My sweet friend Chasity called me on Wednesday and said the tooth had come IN!!!!

We were both kind of in shock and awe.

I went yesterday and had the new permanent crown put in.

Friend!!

He cares about the little things.

He cares about my teeth!

He cares about your teeth!

He cares about the things we care about.

Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 4:7

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:7

Did you catch that last scripture?

Pray about EVERYTHING.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-4-18 tells us, “to rejoice always, and pray without ceasing….”

This teaches that we should pray about everything and anything AT ALL TIMES.

Nothing is too small…

Nothing is too big…

The incredible thing is…nothing is ever lost when we pray.

We have nothing to lose, and EVERYTHING to gain by praying about everything.

As my sweet friend Erin Davis told me recently…when we pray, we are partnering with God.

Ahh, I love that picture!

Prayer brings us closer to The Father.

Prayer opens our spiritual eyes.

Prayer creates intimacy with The Father.

Prayer bolsters our faith.

Prayer should never cease. As long as we have breath in our lungs, we should pray.

I have found another benefit of prayer…

It brings peace to my troubled heart.

It takes the burden off my shoulders and puts it right at the foot of the Cross.

It releases the white knuckle grip, so that I can stretch out my hands in surrender.

We all have stories of God working in our lives…

Let’s share them with each other.

Let’s encourage each other with these stories!

My beautiful friend Pam wrote a book on these kind of miraculous stories!

If you have not gotten it, you need to add to your amazon cart immeditately!

It is called Signs of Wonder, Signs of Might by Pamela Heslep. It is also on sale right now on Amazon!

Go get it! :)

Oh precious friend, pray about everything. You will be so glad you did.

flossing my crown,

jill
