Everyone needs a Pam…

About a year and a half ago, I met Pam in our neighborhood Bible Study.

I was leading a small group and she was one of the ladies in my group.

Her name had come up countless times in conversation with others, so I kind of “knew” about her.

Everyone had spoken so highly of her faith and her wisdom and her “God stories.”

Thrilled to say the least that I finally got to meet her face to face in our Bible Study.

One day, I shared a story of something God had done in my life and immediately after class she shared with me that God speaks to her in very similar ways.

We decided to have lunch so that we could get to know each other better.

As we met for lunch, Pam showed up with a full, overflowing notebook.

All of her “God stories” were written in that notebook. Not just her stories, but pictures that went along with her stories!

I was truly amazed!

We had a very long lunch just spilling out hearts about Jesus!

She shared with me that her life long desire was to write a book.

Stunned, I told her that I had the same dream!

The following March, we made a plan to start writing our books.

In order to hold each other accountable, we decided to meet once a week—no matter what—and just start writing.

Honestly, I wondered deep down if this would really ever happen. I mean, life was busy for both of us. She has 3 grandchildren that she is very actively involved with.

However, God helped us to be able to carve out that sweet time to meet each week.

Pam is in her early seventies, but does not look a day over 50. So, I knew that time was of the essence for her to write this life long dream of a book!

Getting her book written was the most important thing to me. It just HAD to be done. It was God stirring our hearts to do it….and not to stop until it was finished.

Well, the rest is history.

I published my first devotional on November 3rd, and hers was published December 4th!!

Pam has been such an influential friend in my life this past year. She has encouraged me, pushed me, and cheered me on when I felt like it was just never going to happen.

She and I both learned so much about the process…and it was difficult at times. Frustrating at times.

Pam was the patient one. She waited and waited on God…

Her patience and perseverance is just inspiring.

Pam is one of the most joyful people I have ever known. She is radiant with love, joy and a huge heart of Faith!!!

I still cannot believe how God brought us together…for such a time is this.

I want to encourage you to get her book on Amazon. You will be blessed immensely.

Not only is Pam a gifted writer, but her stories will just knock your socks off. She is always, always, always looking for God.

Pam keeps her eyes open in belief and EXPECTATION.

As you are reading this, I am praying right now that God will stir your heart in some way.

Maybe it is a desire to use your gifts and talents, but you just don’t know where to begin.

I am praying that God will bring a friend to walk beside you. To encourage you and spur you on .

As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Proverbs 27:17

God’s Word is full of friendships that encourage and push each other. Some of my favorite examples is King David and Jonathan. Ruth and Naomi. Joshua and Caleb. Mary and Elizabeth.

There are many more!

I have found that praying for and encouraging others builds faith in my own heart. It takes the focus off of “me”, and puts the focus on “others”.

Oh sweet friend, there is nothing more rewarding than watching prayers being answered over a friend! It is a faith builder like no other!!

This Christmas season, look for Jesus. He is always with you!

He is in the smile of a friend, the encouragement of a stranger…He is in all of our moments.

Pam’s book will encourage you to look for Him….in the good times, the hard times…and at all times.

She has taught me so much…and she is still teaching me.

You can find her precious book here on Amazon

A blessing is waiting for you!

find your Pam,

jill
