Let's do this...

Good morning, friends! I am going to go ahead and send you this weeks Bible reading. I will be away from home all day tomorrow, and I want you all to have it before Monday morning...our start day.

Again, our reading will only be a chapter a day..and will be on weekdays only. However, feel free to read some of Proverbs and Psalms each day along with it for some extra encouragement.

This new plan that we are doing will be even better than a one year plan, because we will have a lot more time to digest our reading and not feel rushed to read. If you get behind a few days, it will also be a lot easier to catch up.

I also encourage you to try and read in the morning if possible. It may mean getting up a few minutes earlier, but trust me, it will be worth it!

If you have trouble with getting up a little earlier, ask the Lord to help you with this. He will.

Also, I would suggest going to the Lord in prayer before reading. This helps to open our hearts up to His Spirit and His wisdom. He will help us to interpret His word and better understand the message.

You will be amazed by how you will start craving His word more and more each day. You will have the desire to be filled by His word...daily.

Please feel free to share anything on your heart that week, or what God is teaching you. Our little group is here to encourage you and cheer you on in your faith journey.

Get ready, girls...you are in for the ride of you life!

God's word is sharper than a double edge sword and will pierce your heart like nothing else...in the very best way.

I know I sure need it. Every single day.

My flesh gets the best of me a lot of the time, so I need this accountability and discipline to get me through each day.

In the meantime, I will be praying for each of you. Praying that God will reveal Himself to you like never before this year.

Reading plan for week of January 2:

Monday-1 Samuel 1
Tuesday-1 Samuel 2
Wednesday-1 Samuel 3
Thursday-1 Samuel 4
Friday-1 Samuel 5

"For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12.

Again, please let me know if you do not want to continue this new plan with us...I will not be offended. :)

blessed by your faithfulness,

Jill
