Dear Robert…

This story happened almost exactly 9 years ago today. I always think back on it this time of year.

If you are new to this space, this story will be new to you. If you have been around a long time, you may remember it.

I pray God will give us open eyes to see those in need. Always ready to serve, to pray, to help, to assist.

As we begin this new year, let us pray for God moments, God meetings, God stories.

He is always with us.

He is always speaking.

We just have to open our eyes to see.

What matters most…

This morning, as I was sipping my coffee out of my green Christmas mug, I looked at the presents under the tree.

A bit of alarm waved over my heart…I still had a good bit to purchase and wrap.

I took a deep breath, and then I smiled as I heard a still, small whisper to my heart..

Jill, it will be okay. If you don’t buy another gift, it will be okay. Savor those around you. That is what matters.

About a year and a half ago, I met Pam in our neighborhood Bible Study.

I was leading a small group and she was one of the ladies in my group.

Her name had come up countless times in conversation with others, so I kind of “knew” about her.

Everyone had spoken so highly of her faith and her wisdom and her “God stories.”

Thrilled to say the least that I finally got to meet her face to face in our Bible Study.
