A Time for Everything…
As I am sitting here at this table writing, gulping down a huge cup of coffee, I decide it is time for a bathroom break. I have held it long enough!
Making my way to the bathroom here at Barnes and Noble, I walk in and see a beautiful momma holding a newborn close to her chest.
Alongside of her, three more of her sweet children waiting to go to the bathroom.
I notice the tired look on this momma’s face. She looks happy and content, but also exasperated.
Clearly, I remember those days.
Just Dance…
For a while now, I have been doing something new every morning as I get dressed.
It may seem kind of silly, but I am telling you, it sets my day RIGHT and my heart even RIGHT-ER. (we will pretend that’s a real word)
It began when I began playing my favorite wake-up Christian song to help get me going.
It is a song I love to sing in the early morning and I decided to add a little spark to this routine.
Distracted…
As I was sitting in the waiting room, waiting for my once a year dermatology check-up, I left my phone in my purse.
I looked around and three other people were in the waiting room with me.
All three were on their phones. They had not even looked up when I walked in and sat down.
Typically, that would be what I would be doing as well if I were just sitting in a boring old waiting room with time to spare.
However, since January of this year, I have taken a digital fast of sorts. I logged off of Instagram, as I do each January, to reset and realign my thoughts, my distractions, and my heart.

Praises

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Rescue me from my enemies, O LORD, for I hide myself in you. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
