Pride— Part One…

It is a theme that pops up regularly in my heart and in my life.

I hate it. With a capital H.

It’s sneaky. It’s murderous. It’s detestable.

It’s pride.

The root of a lot of sin that we get tangled up with is pride.

It’s the deep seeded poison that ruins relationships, reputations, character, and love.

It’s the exact opposite of Jesus, our Savior.

“When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.” Proverbs 11:2

What do you See…

I see those words again, as I sip my hot coffee from the mug those words are etched.

“See the Good”.

It’s the coffee cup I drink out of every morning, creature of habit, I drink from its well of warmth.

A sweet friend gave this mug to me several years ago and I still cherish it.

She had no idea, I am sure, of how those words would be a balm to my soul on weary, no-sleep, tossing and turning at night, mornings.

Unseen…

Have you ever felt forgotten? Looked over? Completely invisible?

You are in good company.

Many times, I have felt this way.

Many times, I have felt this way about my children as well.

When they were overlooked, or not recognized, or rejected. As a mother, that sting is even harder to bear.

When things seem “unfair”, or just plain wrong, it makes me question God’s faithfulness and care over me and my family.
