What do you See…
I see those words again, as I sip my hot coffee from the mug those words are etched.
“See the Good”.
It’s the coffee cup I drink out of every morning, creature of habit, I drink from its well of warmth.
A sweet friend gave this mug to me several years ago and I still cherish it.
She had no idea, I am sure, of how those words would be a balm to my soul on weary, no-sleep, tossing and turning at night, mornings.
Unseen…
Have you ever felt forgotten? Looked over? Completely invisible?
You are in good company.
Many times, I have felt this way.
Many times, I have felt this way about my children as well.
When they were overlooked, or not recognized, or rejected. As a mother, that sting is even harder to bear.
When things seem “unfair”, or just plain wrong, it makes me question God’s faithfulness and care over me and my family.
Rocking Chairs…
Before the alarm clock has a chance to chirp its lovely morning jazz melody, my eyes pop open.
No alarm clock needed for this middle aged woman accustomed to early mornings and early bedtimes.
Quietly, I make it to the coffee maker to wake it up.
Waiting for what seems like eternity, I finally see the coffee is brewed up and ready to pour.
Tiptoeing to the front door, I open the door and barely let the door close behind me as to not wake a soul.
This time. This time is mine and mine alone.

Praises

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Rescue me from my enemies, O LORD, for I hide myself in you. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
